Interactive Multimodal System Lab

Welcome to Interactive Multimodal System (IMS) Laboratory led by Dr.Minchul Cha in the Division of Social Science & AI / Media and Communication at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).

At IMS Lab, we study how humans and AI understand, represent, and influence one another through interaction. Our research focuses on three interconnected directions: how human intentions, preferences, and information are communicated to AI / how AI can model and simulate human behavior / and how AI systems, in turn, shape human perceptions, decisions, and behavior.

By integrating perspectives from Human–AI Interaction (HAI), Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), communication, behavioral science, and artificial intelligence, we aim to better understand the evolving relationship between humans and intelligent systems and to design AI that interacts with people in more human-centered ways.

Feel free to contact Dr. Cha (minchulcha@hufs.ac.kr) if you have any question on my research and are interested in the collaborations.

인간의 의도·선호·정보가 AI에게 어떻게 전달되는지(Human to AI), AI가 인간의 행동을 어떻게 모델링하고 재현할 수 있는지(AI as Human), 그리고 AI의 행동과 상호작용 방식이 다시 인간의 인식·판단·행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지(AI to Human)를 탐구합니다.
